“Policy must be based on science, not science fiction.”
— Fei-Fei Li
We live in an era dominated by noise, hype, and deep conflicts of interest surrounding science and technology. Whether attending specialist conferences or engaging in everyday conversations, I constantly notice that most of us, if not all, are talking about terms, models, and technologies that we either don't truly understand or are simply copying and pasting press releases and urban myths. Perhaps this is because our sources of information are fundamentally inadequate.
For years, I have been trying to compile a list of sources that help me approach the Fourth Industrial Revolution as simply, seriously, and reliably as possible. This list grows every day with high-quality spaces that I love to dive into and study for days on end.
As a visual designer, my primary interest lies in Computer Vision, Vision-Language (VL) models, 3D Vision, Spatial AI, and related fields. However, I have made a conscious effort to include broader AI research and critical and philosophical voices.
Geographically, the list is divided, perhaps a bit loosely, into four major regions: the USA, China, the EU & UK, and the Rest of the World. Knowledge, of course, has no borders; my goal was simply to look beyond the standard Western sources that typically dominate our side of the world.
This directory is an ongoing project. I would be grateful for your suggestions, recommendations, and feedback.
