Once a year, India explodes into a symphony of color. Holi is more than a celebration—it expresses freedom, joy, emotion, and identity. It reminds us that color is not just what we see but what we feel.
A mosaic combines elements to create something powerful, meaningful, and alive.

India in My Mosaics
Through color, detail, texture, and symbolism, I seek to capture what is so deeply present in Indian culture: diversity, complexity, and harmony.
Over the years, I’ve had the honor of creating several mosaic portraits and photomosaics connected to India, each reflecting a unique facet.

In a project for Emirates Air-Line, I created two large-scale photomosaics of New Delhi and Mumbai, two of India’s most iconic cities. Celebrating the vibrant pulse of Indian urban life, built from thousands of images reflecting the country’s diversity, tradition, and modernity.

One of the cross-cultural storytelling projects is the cover design for George Zarkadakis’ historical novel. The book explores the world of the Greco-Indian (Hellenistic) kingdom, blending ancient history, philosophy, adventure, and love. As a Greek artist fascinated by culture, this collaboration allowed me to dive into a shared cultural past—when two great civilizations met, exchanged ideas, and built something beautiful together.
The cover illustration weaves together different elements—symbolism, storytelling, and vibrant textures—to reflect a world where East and West are not divided but united through thought and art.

Kamala Harris – A portrait of heritage, strength, and progress. Her Indian roots and global leadership reflect the power of cultural fusion and the strength of identity.
Mother Teresa – Created in honor of compassion, this mosaic is a tribute to her life of service in India. She represents the invisible force of love, one tile at a time.
Steve Jobs – A visionary shaped not only by technology but also by his spiritual journey through India. This portrait is infused with ideas, reflection, and transformation energy.
These mosaic portraits are tied to India through influence and legacy. They reflect how India has touched the lives of some of the world’s most impactful figures—and how those stories, in turn, can be told through color, composition, and thousands of tiny mosaic fragments.

Yet despite these projects, I’ve never had the opportunity to dive deeply into Indian culture and create a comprehensive body of work—a large-scale artistic journey, as I’ve done with my African Bricks series. With its immense richness in storytelling, symbolism, and color, I feel that India holds vast potential for my mosaic exploration.
I hope to immerse myself fully in its culture someday, collaborate with Indian creatives, and build a project that honors its complexity, beauty, and spirit.
